The Ron Clark Academy is a highly acclaimed, nonprofit middle school located in Southeast Atlanta founded by Ron Clark and Kim Bearden. The Academy has received both national and international recognition for its success of creating a loving, dynamic learning environment that promotes academic excellence and fosters leadership. The Academy seeks to extend its reach beyond its student body by having an impact upon students everywhere. RCA is a demonstration school. In the past 16 years, more than 100,000 superintendents, district level administrators, and teachers have participated in the RCA experience to learn better ways to engage students, promote academic excellence, build relationships, and to create a positive climate and culture. 

The Chief Revenue Officer will oversee all revenue generating elements within the RCA. This individual will oversee initiatives and staff members devoted to sales, pricing, and marketing of RCA’s products/services. The CRO will have the responsibility of identifying the most appropriate markets and market segments, overseeing all revenue-generating activities, directing the management of current sales channels and partnerships, and establishing new ones. 

The CRO position will also engage in campus life, build rapport with students and families, and assist with extracurricular activities, just as all other staff members do. The CRO would be expected to be involved with all functions of the school’s activities and special events. The CRO will be a member of one of the four iconic “houses” at RCA and stay involved as appropriate in being a booster and encourager of this sub-group of students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Revenue Generation: Present, promote and sell RCA’s products/services to existing and prospective customers. Leverage up-selling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Market Research: Gain a deep understanding of the target audience and the competitive landscape, as well as a clear understanding of RCA products.
  • Marketing Initiatives: Market RCA Experience educator training; the House System concept, mobile app and conference; facility rentals; merchandise; the school itself; certification and/or licensing extensions to achieve identified income goals and other potential moneymaking enterprises.
  • Media Relations: Keep RCA and its subject matter experts in the press on an ongoing cadence calendar of news plus leverage strike-now opportunities to keep the institution in the cultural vernacular and part of trend stories and segments.
  • Social Media Marketing Initiatives: Keep RCA team focused on key social media platforms across Facebook, Instagram YouTube, Twitter, TikTok and other relevant platforms to promote its priorities. 
  • Issues and Crisis Management: Maintain plans and protocols to be proactive about any events which could affect the wealth or brand of the organization
  • City and Nationwide Connector for Outreach and Engagement: Help expose more organizations, corporations, foundations, and influencers to RCA, allowing the cofounders and educators to focus on what they do best with fellow teachers and students
  • Internal Communications: Help with ensuring RCA staff and board are equipped with key messaging and feel supported in accomplishing strategic plan and communication goals 
  • Measurement: Work with website developers and in-house videographers and use back-end analytics, ensuring all RCA digital platforms are providing peak performance. 

Education and Experience – Chief Revenue Officer: Ron Clark Academy

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field
  • 10+ years in the sales or marketing profession
  • Proven success leading and developing a team 
  • An effective communicator, written and verbal
