Operations Manager
A Fortune 500 leader in the automotive manufacturing industry is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Operations Manager to lead and manage the Operations organization at the Niagara Falls Plant. This role is integral in achieving daily and annual production goals while maintaining the highest safety, environmental, and cost-effective standards, and ensuring customer quality satisfaction.
As an Operations Manager, you will represent Niagara Falls operations on key business teams, manage production operations, control costs, and ensure adherence to strategic and financial objectives. You will oversee process improvements, new product implementation, team development, and succession planning, while also participating in contract negotiations and upholding company policies and regulations.
- Lead and manage the Operations organization to ensure the Niagara Falls Plant meets daily and annual production targets.
- Ensure the plant operates in a safe, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective manner.
- Oversee adherence to high quality and productivity standards as defined by S&OP requirements.
- Control and report on operating costs, ensuring expenditures align with the monthly accounting close.
- Develop and implement long-term strategic plans to ensure sustainability and continuous improvement at Niagara Falls, focusing on cost savings, process improvements, and new product implementation.
- Foster team development, manage succession plans, and actively lead team-building efforts.
- Represent Niagara Falls operations on business teams, as appropriate, contributing to overall corporate goals.
- Maintain compliance with all operational procedures, policies, regulations, and contractual obligations.
Education and Experience – Operations Manager
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or chemical plant environment, including managing salaried and hourly employees.
- Strong financial responsibility and experience with production planning, problem solving, and strategy development.
- Proven ability to lead teams in both union and non-union environments.
- Experience in driving day-to-day operations while aligning them with long-term strategic goals.
- A BS in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical degree preferred) or a related field.
- $60 / hour starting pay
