Underwriting Technician
Location: Fully remote
Pay: $27/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST, flexible to your location

About the Role
We’re seeking a skilled Underwriting Technician to join our Group Benefits Underwriting team. In this role, you’ll be the go-to for accurate group enrollment processing, collaborating with underwriters, sales teams, and brokers in a fast-paced, rewarding environment. Must have Underwriting experience in any capacity to be considered!

What You’ll Do
- Enter and manage new group enrollment data in internal systems
- Review enrollment materials for completeness and compliance
- Analyze quotes and proposals for accuracy
- Verify broker appointments and licensing
- Evaluate eligibility documentation for new enrollees
- Process employer group changes
- Collaborate with sales offices and underwriters
- Support additional tasks and evolving team functions
Education and Experience – Underwriting Technician
What We’re Looking For
- 2+ years of experience in an underwriting support or technician role required (health or group insurance experience preferred)
- Ideally strong knowledge of the health insurance market
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and other systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
